Drake University offers one of the most valuable marketing degrees in the nation, according to a new list by College Factual.

The higher education ranking website said Drake's undergraduate marketing major is the 14th best value in the nation. The list, featured recently by USA Today College, assigned value rankings by comparing estimated average starting salaries and mid-career salaries for graduates of marketing programs across the United States. The website says Drake's marketing graduates have an estimated starting salary of $38,000 and a mid-career salary of $93,000.

47 days and counting: Your online environment is about to change when Concordia launches a new Student Information System (SIS) on January 26 that supports virtually all student-related services, processes and business functions at the university.

Based on a packaged software platform from Oracle/PeopleSoft called Campus Solutions — currently used at more than 25 educational institutions across Canada — the new SIS will replace an aging in-house system that no longer meets the university’s expanding and future needs.

George Will gave one of the commencement speeches at Michigan State University on Saturday -- despite protests from students and some politicians that he was a poor choice for speaker because of comments he has made about those who have reported being raped on campuses.  In a column he wrote that efforts to combat sexual assault on campus "make victimhood a coveted status that confers privileges" and he referred to the "supposed campus epidemic of rape." ... more

As U.S. campuses have dramatically increased their international student populations in recent years, more and more faculty members are encountering a different demographic of student than they are used to – or at least they’re encountering that demographic more frequently. They’re seeing more non-native speakers of English who in many cases are unfamiliar or uncomfortable with American classroom norms: participating in classroom discussions, asking the professor a question, engaging in group work.

The enrollment of new graduate students from outside the United States is up 8 percent this year at American graduate programs, according to data being released today by the Council of Graduate Schools. That's down slightly from a 10 percent gain a year ago, but the same increase of the prior two years before that.

American campuses have never been more international.

In 2013-14, colleges in the United States enrolled a record 886,052 foreign students, an increase of 8 percent over the previous year, according to the latest "Open Doors" report from the Institute of International Education.

While the boom in students from abroad is longstanding and well known, dig deeper into the data and you’ll find several trends that have implications for how colleges recruit overseas and create opportunities for American students to study abroad.

Today, U.S. government officials led by the Department of State’s Economic and Business Affairs Bureau reached agreement, ad referendum, on a new civil aviation agreement between the United States and Mexico. The agreement will enter into force on January 1, 2016, after both parties have completed their necessary routine internal processes.

El pasado miércoles 19 de noviembre se llevó a cabo, en nuestro campus, la firma del convenio titulado “American Degree Transfer Program” traducido al español como “Transferencia de grado americano” el cual promueve que alumnos americanos y mexicanos inicien sus estudios en la nuestra Casa de Estudios durante dos años y la concluyan dos años más en DePaul University. Este convenio es el primero en su tipo que la Universidad de DePaul firma con una institución educativa mexicana.
