04/07 Thomas M. Buntru is the Director of International Programs at Universidad de Monterrey (UDEM). His responsibilities include the negotiation of cooperation and exchange agreements, the administration of student and faculty mobility programs, the development of grant proposals, and the promotion of institutional internationalization initiatives and activities. Under his leadership, UDEM has become one of the most internationalized universities in Mexico (in the September 2005 issue of the journal Mundo Universitario, UDEM was ranked as the university with the second-highest study abroad participation rate in the country). Mr. Buntru has been a member of AMPEI, the Mexican Association for International Education, since 1997 and has served on its board of directors since 2000.
