Alliant's exciting cross-border initiative links universities, a chamber of commerce, businesses and vocational students outside of the traditional university system—all with the goal to increase the level of entrepreneurship in Mexico. The program focuses on developing information systems technology (IST) abilities both in the students as programmers (supply side) and in the entrepreneurs as integrators (demand side) of this technology in their businesses. The presenter will discuss their innovative redesign of technology transfer programs to better meet the needs of small- and medium-sized businesses in Mexico. This program has been implemented in conjunction with CETYS Universidad in Mexico and is funded by CONAHEC as a part of its Border PACT Initiative.
